Cocolate cookies

This is a very nice recipe for chocolate cookies, they are just perfectly chocolaty. I got the recipe from my mother.

They are probably not good at all for your waistline though, however they do contain fibres (rolled oats, or possibly porridge oats, both came up in search for translation) 🙂 Sugar content is rather high though, and you put in 350 grams of dark chocolate. But they do say dark chocolates are healthier then milk chocolate. I guess that the better chocolate the better cookie, but the kind selled as baking chocolate works just fine.

Chocolate cookies (American)

About 40-50 depending on how big you make them

You need:

  • 200 grams of butter
  • 4 1/2 deciliter of brown sugar
  • 3/4 deciliter of sugar (normal, white)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla sugar
  • 6 1/2 deciliter of quick cooking oats (I think that is the best bet, I did some research)
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 deciliter flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda (Sodium bicarbonate)
  • 350 grams dark chocolate

How to:

  1. Mix butter, sugar (both white and brown) and vanilla sugar. Stir until creamy.
  2. Add the oats and stir in well.
  3. In a separate bowl, whip the eggs lightly. Poor the eggs into the butter mixture.
  4. Blend flour, salt and baking soda. Kneed into the butter and egg mix.
  5. Chop the chocolate semi rough, and kneed into the dough.
  6. Make small balls, about 2 centimeter in diameter, place on lined baking tray. Use your hand to flatten them so they become around 0.5 centimeter thick. Don’t put them to closely together, they will float out.
  7. Bake at 150 degrees celsius for 10-15 minutes.
