Warm potato salad

Potato Salad

Potato Salad

This is a simple nice little potato salad, to be eaten warm. Works well with a spicy sausage.

The salad is best served right away, if you need to prepare in advance, all you really can do is boil and cut the potato into pieces. Then when it’s time to serve heat up the potato and poor over the dressing and rucola afterwards. It is rather nice when cold as well, but it is at its best lukewarm.

You need:

  • Potato
  • Red union
  • Rucola (or other type of salad that can be gently warmed, you could also use parsley)
  • Dijon mustard
  • Olive oil
  • Apple cider vinegar (or white wine vinegar)
  • water
  • salt and pepper

Hot meat stew

You don’t get a nice picture of this dish, as I can’t find the camera 🙁 It is possible my boyfriend has got it with him for some reason though. If that is the case a picture could possibly come along later. I doubt there will be any left overs to display nicely on a plate at another point, so if the camera don’t show up before we get to the table you’ll have to use your imagination 🙂 Read the rest of this entry »

Finally back on track

As you might have noticed there’s been a bit of problems with the site lately. Everything should be sorted now 🙂 So now I just need to whip up something in the kitchen so I get something new to write about. I’ve got a plan to put a stew on the stove in just a few seconds, will try and document the how so I can let you all know (if it turns out good that is)

I also want to give credits to the crew at my hosting company, for being so helpful and putting up with my constant issues this week. I’d recommend them any day 🙂

I’m using one of their free plans, they don’t even require ads on this one, most free hosts have forced ads unfortunately. They do have ad-enhanced offers where you get a little more if want to put up ads on your site (text ad for the smaller plan and banner for the bigger plan). For those who wants a bit more support they also have paid plans. You can read more about the different hosting plans on their site: http://www.x10hosting.com/

Chocolate cookies

Cocolate cookies

Cocolate cookies

This is a very nice recipe for chocolate cookies, they are just perfectly chocolaty. I got the recipe from my mother.

They are probably not good at all for your waistline though, however they do contain fibres (rolled oats, or possibly porridge oats, both came up in search for translation) 🙂 Sugar content is rather high though, and you put in 350 grams of dark chocolate. But they do say dark chocolates are healthier then milk chocolate. I guess that the better chocolate the better cookie, but the kind selled as baking chocolate works just fine. Pasta sauce with tomato, aubergine and ham

When my boyfriend came home from work he declared he wanted spaghetti in the lunch box for tomorrow. So I gave it a good thought and asked my self what to cook to go with the spaghetti. Since we had meatloaf yesterday a bolognese didn’t seem right, and I was not really up for some cheese flavoured sauce.

Pasta sauce

Pasta sauce

I started out by going to the grocery store since I was out of onions and milk was running low in out fridge, said to myself that maybe I’d get an idea then.
I know planning the meals a bit ahead is a good thing, but I tend to make the decision around the time I get hungry 🙂

Anyways I figured it out and came back home with onion, mushrooms, crushed tomatoes and an aubergine. The rest I had at home already.
