Chocolate cake

This recipe is not invented by me, but I have no clue where it originated… I’ve had it in my collection on a handwritten paper since I was around 14 or so.

Anyways, here’s the recipe:

Chocolate cake

  • 100 grams of butter
  • 2 ½ deciliters of sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 3-4 tablespoons of cocoa
  • 1½ deciliter flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 tablespoons of vanilla sugar

How to:

  1. Mix all dry ingredients except sugar.
  2. Melt the butter, take of from heat, stir in the sugar in the pot. sugar should sort of melt in with the butter add the eggs and the dry mix. Stir well.
  3. Put into a buttered form, if its a “spring form”, even better (the edge is removable) about 25 centimeters in diameter, preferably with a little bit higher edge then the normal pie form, but a pie form works.

Put in oven at 175 degrees Celsius for 22-25 minutes. Its supposed to be a bit sticky in the center.
Serve with whipped cream or sift icing sugar over it.

Pannacotta with orange salad

Pannacotta is a dessert made of cream flavored with different things. The most traditional flavor is vanilla. Here is an alternative flavoring, together with the vanilla flavor.

To make a two layered pannacotta you need to think ahead and do the first part at least 10 hours before the planned serving time. This is because it needs 3-5 hours in the fridge to stiffen before you can poor on the next layer.

You can of course chose to serve any of them as a single layer, they are then enough to serve 4. The vanilla flavored can basically be served with any fruit you like.

Simple appledessert

Might not be something to serve at a big dinner party, but will surely suit for the more intimate family dinner, or when you just feel a need for a nice treat after a long day.

Best served with some good vanilla ice cream, but vanilla sauce could do, as well as vanilla flavored yogurt (the later was what the TV chef used when I learnt about the recipe).

It’s done in a matter of minutes, and you only need four ingredients: apple, butter, sugar and cinnamon. Read the rest of this entry »
